Top Reinforcements (Mat Foundation)

Top Reinforcements (Mat Foundation)

Top reinforcements are defined from this spreadsheet. User can define uniform reinforcement and can define additional reinforcements from the two spreadsheets of this section.

Figure 1

Uniform Reinforcements

User can assign a mat piece or mat edge area as uniform reinforcement zone or can draw a custom area and assign as uniform reinforcement zone.

The uniform reinforcement areas are arranged hierarchically within themselves. For example if user defines 3 intertwined areas using mat edge, mat piece and drawing a custom area, custom area is superior to the mat piece uniform zone and mat piece uniform zone is superior to the mat edge uniform zone.

  • Click Select Mat For Uniform Reinf. to assign a mat object as uniform reinforcement zone

  • Select a mat edge or mat piece and hit Enter

  • Click Custom Zone Uniform Reinf. to draw custom area for uniform reinforcement

  • Draw the area within the mat edge

Figure 2

  • Select the rebar number for rebar layers in the spreadsheet

  • Enter the spacing in the spreadsheet

  • Click N/Showing Additional Rebar Zones to see the additional reinforcement demand zones

Additional Reinforcements

  • Click Draw Slab Reinf. to draw rebar.

Additional rebars must be drawn from support face to support face and spacing and count data must be defined in order to calculate the contribution of additional reinforcement to capacity.

Figure 3

  • Enter the spacing and count of the additional rebar

  • Select the rebar number of additional reinforcement.
