Load Combination Table

Load Combination Table

Linear load combinations and envelopes are defined in this section.

Linear Load Combination Definition

Load combinations can be imported from the AEC|BOLT BIM Cloud Library database or created by the user.

→ To view the combinations available in the database, click on the "Combination DB" button (refer to Figure 1), as depicted in Figure 2.

→ To import the chosen load combinations, select the relevant combinations and click the "Import" button.

Figure 2

Load combinations imported from the library do not require editing even after changes are made to the corresponding load classes.

To create a custom load combination;

→ Click the “Add” button (Figure 1).

→ Enter load factors for the corresponding load classes.

→ Edit the combination name (optional).

Important Note
(Load combinations & envelopes):

In the AEC|BOLT AUTOCAD APP, users have the capability to add load combinations or envelopes to other load combinations. The algorithm prevents circular dependency, which refers to attempting to create a load combination that includes itself. Circular dependency is a concern when defining a load combination that involves other load combinations. To indicate cells causing circular dependency, they are highlighted in a light grey color (refer to Figure 4 for linear combinations and Figure 6 for envelopes).

→ To view and include pre-defined load combinations within another load combination, click on the "Showing w/o L.C." button (refer to Figure 1). This action reveals additional cells, allowing you to add load combinations to the current load combination.

→ To view and include envelopes (if any) within another load combination, click on the "Showing w/o Env." button (refer to Figure 1). This action reveals additional cells, enabling you to add the envelopes to the current load combination.

→ Enter corresponding load factors to the load combinations or envelopes.

→ As you hover the cursor over the red points (refer to Figure 4), you can view the explanation for the deactivated cells, if any.

Envelope Definition

Envelopes can be defined in the "Envelope" spreadsheet.

To add envelope rows, follow these steps:

  1. Change the dropdown option from "Linear Combinations" to "Envelope" (refer to Figure 1).

  2. Click the "Add" button.

Please refer to the "Important Note" section above for more information on load combinations and envelopes.
