Floor models are exported to CSI SAFE and results are imported back to AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite from this section.
Figure 1
→ Click Design Strip button as in Figure 1 to draw directions for design strips.
You can also draw design strip directions in Slab spreadsheet in each floor.
When direction1 is drawn direction2 which is perpendicular to it will be drawn automatically as illustrated in Figure 2. These directions are assigned to layers by default but can be edited later as demonstrated in Figure 3.

→ Edit the parameters shown in Figure 4
→ Click update button before exporting any file.
→ Click Export SAFE (.f2k) File button as shown in Figure 1.
→ Name the file and select where to save then click Save button in the pop up window to create “.f2k” export file.
If the story is not applicable to export, BDS will give warning as log.txt demonstrated in Figure 5.

→ To export the analysis results of SAFE, while the analyzed model is open in SAFE click File then Export Model and select SAFE.F2K as illustrated in Figure 6.

→ Select tables as shown in Figure 7.

→ Name the file and select where to save then click Save in the pop up window to create “.f2k” file of analyzed model.
→ Click Import SAFE Results (.f2k) button as shown in Figure 1 then select the .f2k file of analyzed model to import results of SAFE. Importing is succesful if compare is as shown in Figure 8.

→ Click Safe Compare button as shown in Figure 1 to compare imported model data and existing model later.
