Single Pile [EX1-SIG]

After clicking on 'Substructure> Pile' in the navigation treeview, follow the steps to define the Pile. You can use the collapsed documentation page below for more information on the explanations of each parameter.

Click the three-dots icon on the Substructure cell, and then select Footing1.

As a result of these operations, an issue will appear on the OpenBrIM screen. This does not necessarily mean that any operation was done incorrectly. The issue will be resolved when the Section and Pile Properites are set in the next step.

Click three-dots icon on the Pile Length/Section cell and click Edit.

Enter the Section Length as 50.

Click three-dots icon on Start Section cell and select the Section as PileCircle.

If you have reached this stage and you don't have a section to select, and if you want to use the Import Button, you can refer to the Quick Tip.

Click three-dots icon on End Section cell and select the Section as PileCircle.

Enter the Longitudinal Offset as 5.

Enter the Transverse Offset as 10.

Enter the Section Orientation as 30.

Keep the Batter Angle(Long.), Batter Angle(Trans.) and Embed. Length into Substructure as default.

Pile’s FEA propetries can be defined using FEA tab.

Enter the Offset from the bottom of the Footing/Bent as 3.

Keep the Tx,Ty,Tz, Rx, Ry and Rz as default.

To model all the pile property, copy the data below and paste the parameters into the first cell in OpenBrIM spreadsheet.

Keep the Top Connection and Generate FEM and parameters of FEA-Group Effect tab’s parameters as default.

Set name as Pile2.

When the steps are completed, the shared screenshot displayed in the adjacent cell should be visible in the 3D view of OpenBrIM.

To model all the pile, copy the data below and paste the parameters into the first cell in OpenBrIM spreadsheet. Refer to the quick tip for an easy guide on how to perform the copy operation. After completing the copy, proceed to the next step to verify the model.
