Code Check Templates

Figure 1

Code Checks

By clicking on the "Code Checks" button in Figure 1, a drop-down menu of individual code check templates will be displayed, as shown in Figure 2. You can select a specific code check template from the list. Upon selection, a corresponding spreadsheet of that code check template will be generated, presenting the relevant design parameters, as depicted in Figure 3.

This feature allows you to access and utilize specific code check templates for performing structural code compliance checks. Each template provides a dedicated spreadsheet with the necessary design parameters and criteria based on the selected code. It enables you to easily evaluate the structural elements of your design against the requirements specified in the chosen code.

Design Template

By clicking on the "Design Template" button, a checkbox window will open, as shown in Figure 4. In this window, you can select the desired design template that corresponds to your specific design requirements. On the right side of the window, you will find information about the selected design template, including the design specification and year.

Furthermore, by clicking on the blue link-text provided, you can open a browser window (Figure 5) that will display the corresponding library object. This library object represents the code check procedure associated with the selected design template. In the browser window, you can explore the code check parameters and computations relevant to the design template. This provides you with detailed insights into the code check methodology and allows you to better understand the design criteria applied in the template.

Once you have made your selection, click on the "Add" button to proceed, as shown in Figure 4. After the import procedure is completed, the imported code check templates will appear as rows in the spreadsheet, as illustrated in Figure 6.

The "Show" button under the "Report" column serves the same purpose as explained in the previous section, functioning as a blue link-text that opens a detailed report in a browser window.

Additionally, the "Show" button under the "Code Check Template Parameters" column allows you to switch to the corresponding code check template spreadsheet, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 7, with the newly added code check template rows. This enables you to review and modify the code check parameters specific to each template, ensuring they align with your design requirements and preferences.

To assign a code check template as design criteria, you can navigate to the Design Criteria section.

Ensure that you carefully review the design criteria and select the appropriate code check template that aligns with the project specifications and applicable building codes.
