Design Templates
Design Templates
By clicking on the "Design Templates" button in Figure 1, a drop-down menu of individual design templates will be displayed, as shown in Figure 2. You can select a specific design template from the list. Upon selection, a corresponding spreadsheet of that design template will be generated, presenting the relevant design parameters, as depicted in Figure 3.
This feature allows you to access and utilize specific design templates for performing structural design to some extend. Each template provides a dedicated spreadsheet with the necessary design parameters.
Import Design Template (Library)
By clicking on the "Import Design Template (Library)" button, a checkbox window will open, as shown in Figure 4. In this window, you can select the desired design template that corresponds to your specific design requirements. On the right side of the window, you will find information about the selected design template.
Furthermore, by clicking on the blue link-text provided, you can open a browser window (Figure 5) that will display the corresponding library object. This library object represents the design procedure associated with the selected design template. In the browser window, you can explore the design parameters and computations relevant to the design template. This provides you with detailed insights into the design methodology and allows you to better understand the design scoring applied in the template.
Once you have made your selection, click on the "Add" button to proceed, as shown in Figure 4. After the import procedure is completed, the imported design templates will appear as rows in the spreadsheet, as illustrated in Figure 6.
The "Show" button under the "Design Template Parameters" column allows you to switch to the corresponding design template spreadsheet, as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 7, with the newly added design template rows. This enables you to review and modify the design parameters specific to each template, ensuring they align with your design requirements and preferences.
For the specific design templates explained in detail, refer also to the sections: Column Design, Slab Design and Beam Design.
To assign a design template as design criteria, you can navigate to the Design Criteria section.
Ensure that you carefully review the design criteria and select the appropriate design template that aligns with the project specifications and applicable building codes.
