Global FE Model

The building finite element model generation is initiated from this section, enabling users to create a comprehensive and accurate representation of the building's structural system.

To generate the global finite element model, set "Show Analytical Model" to True, as illustrated in Figure 1.

Refresh FEM

The spreadsheet will display the number of generated finite elements after hitting on “Refresh FEM” button (Figure 2).

Run Analysis

Once the global FE model analysis is completed, you can click "Close" (Figure 3). After the analysis finishes, you will have the ability to investigate parameters such as composite forces, deformed shape, line forces, and more (Figure 4).

After performing the global finite element model analysis, the spreadsheets for nodes, lines, and surfaces will be populated with the corresponding geometric parameters and finite element members. (See FE Nodes, FE Lines and FE Surfaces).
