Cross-frame K Top [EX1-SIG]
After clicking on 'Superstructure> Cross Frames> Cross-frame K Top' in the navigation treeview, follow the steps to define the Cross Frame. You can use the collapsed documentation page below for more information on the explanations of each parameter.
1 | Click three-dots on the first cell of the Girders and pick the girders G3,G4 |

2 | Keep the Skew Angle and Station as default. |

5 | You can edit the Section of cross frame from Sections tab. Click three-dots icon on Top Chord Section, Bottom Chord Section and Diagonal Chord Section cells and select a Section as AISCL8X8X3_4. If you have reached this stage and you don't have a section to select, and if you want to use the Import Button, you can refer to the Quick Tip. Keep Top Chord Orientation Angle, Bottom Chord Orientation Angle, Diagonal Chord Orientation Angle as default. |

7 | You can edit the gusset plate of cross frame from Gusset Plate tab. Click three-dots icon on Top Gusset Plate cell and select a Gusset Plate as GSK_TOP. Click three-dots icon on Bottom Gusset Plate cell and select a Gusset Plate as GSK_BOTTOM. Click three-dots icon on Center Gusset Plate cell and select a Gusset Plate as GSK_CENTER. |

8 | Enter the Offset from Top of Web as 3. |

9 | Keep the Offset from Bot. of Web and Offset from Top of Web (Center Plate) as default. | |
10 | Enter the Horizontal Dist. btw Web Centerline and Plate Edge as 1. |

11 | You can edit the stiffener of cross frame from Stiffener tab. Keep the Vertical Stiffener Thickness as default. Enter the Vertical Stiffener Width as 7. |

12 | Click the three-dots icon on the Material cell, and then select A709_50.

14 | Keep the Geometry and FEA tabs parameters as default. | |
15 | When the steps are completed, the shared screenshot displayed in the adjacent cell should be visible in the 3D view of OpenBrIM. | |
16 | To model all the cross frame, copy the data below and paste the parameters into the first cell in OpenBrIM spreadsheet. Refer to the quick tip for an easy guide on how to perform the copy operation. After completing the copy, proceed to the next step to verify the model. |
