Projects Users
By default, projects created by a user are only visible and accessible to that user. Access can be granted to other users' accounts as needed.
You can access the list of accounts that have been granted access to the project, add or remove accounts from the project, and edit the authorization settings for each account using the 'Users' menu, as demonstrated below.
Below are some common use cases for user settings in private workspaces. In all of these scenarios, having an approved account in the client's private workspace is a prerequisite:
If you add a colleague to one of your projects, they can review the revision history of the project regardless of their view or edit access.
When you share only the link to a specific revision with a colleague and do not grant any access, they can only view that snapshot of the project. Any changes made after the revision will not be visible to other users unless you share your project link instead of a snapshot link. To allow them to see the final version of the model, share the project with read-only permissions or share the project link. Please note that link sharing provides view-only access, and recipients cannot edit the project.
The OpenBrIM Platform supports simultaneous collaboration on the same project through the use of WebSocket technology, ensuring continuous client-server communication. This means that when one account updates the model, other account(s) are promptly notified of the change, and all projects are automatically updated. In practice, this allows different accounts to edit projects sequentially, with each change recorded in the revision history.
If you want to collaborate on different scenarios simultaneously with your colleague without affecting each other's work, you can duplicate the project. It's important to note that, in this case, there won't be any record of the duplication in the project's revision history. |
