WS AASHTO [EX1-SIG]
After clicking on ‘Loading> Loads> Wind Load> Wind Load on Structure> WS AASHTO' in the navigation treeview, follow the steps to define the Wind Load on Structure. You can use the collapsed documentation page below for more information on the explanations of each parameter.
1 | Click three-dots icon on Stage cell and select a Construction Stage as WSStage. |

2 | Keep the Span Height Variation as default. |

3 | Click three-dots icon on Structural Objects and Pressure Parameters cell and Edit. |

4 | Click three-dots on the cell of the Applied Elements and pick the element BR1. |

5 | Click the three-dots icon on the Wind Direction cell, and then set Left to Right. |

6 | Enter the Structural Height from Ground Line as 52. |

7 | Keep the Gust Effect Factor parameters as default.
The gust effect factor value is specified in AASHTO Table 3.8.1.2.1-1. To determine these values, you can refer to the quick tip below. |

9 | Keep the Drag Coefficient as default.
The drag coefficient value is specified in AASHTO Table 3.8.1.2.1-2. To determine this value, you can refer to the quick tip below. |

12 | Keep the Substructure Objects and Pressure Parameters and Superstructure Objects and Pressure Parameters as default. |

13 | Keep the Strength III Design Wind Speed as default.
The strength III design wind speed value is specified in AASHTO Figure 3.8.1.1.2-1. To determine this value, you can refer to the quick tip below. |

15 | Keep the Surface Roughness as default.
The surface roughness value is specified in AASHTO 3.8.1.1.4 . To determine this value, you can refer to the quick tip below. |
