Wind Load [EX1-STG]
Please follow the instructions provided below to define wind loads.
1 | Navigate to Loads > Wind Load > Wind Load AASHTO |

2 | Click three-dots icon on Stage cell and click select. | |
3 | Select the Stage to “WSStage” from the combobox.

4 | If desired, you can assign the prevailing incoming direction of the wind. Set “Right to Left” as Wind Direction.

5 | Click three-dots icon on Structural Objects And Pressure Parameters cell and click Edit. |

6 | In this section, you need to define the parameters of the objects affected by the wind. The 'Structural Height From Ground Line' parameter represents the distance between the apex of the element, where the wind acts, and the ground." | |
7 | Click three-dots icon on Applied Elements cell and click pick. | |
8 | After selecting the elements, Enter the values of the "Structural Height From Ground Line [ft]" parameter according to the project. Enter the "Gust Effect Factor" and "Drag Coeffienct" parameters of the elements as in the figure. |

9 | Navigate back to Params tab. Enter the Design Wind Speed (mph) and Surface Roughness parameters as in the figure according to AASHTO 9th. |

2 | Copy related Params from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. |
