This part is to inform about the general purposes of section definitions.


Please follow the instructions provided below to set section definitions to be used in this bridge example.

Navigate to Properties > Sections

To import a section, click on the three-dot icon located on the first cell of the Name and select "Import Section".

Select OpenBrIM Bridge Objects > Basic Sections > Basic Shapes > Rectangle

Enter Width as 60 and Depth as 84 in import section editor.

Click Import

Rename this section as HammerHeadSec

Assign Material as Fc_4ksi

(If the material Fc_4ksi is already assigned by default, there is no need to assign it again)

Repeat the same steps from 2 to 7 for the second rectangular section

Enter Width and Depth

  • Width: 66

  • Depth: 54

Rename this section as HalfHammerHeadSec1

Assign Material as Fc_4ksi

Repeat the same steps from 2 to 7 for the third rectangular section

Enter Witdh and Depth

  • Width: 66

  • Depth: 125

Rename this section as HalfHammerHeadSec2

Assign Material as: Fc_4ksi

Repeat the same steps from 2 to 7 for the third rectangular section

Enter Witdh and Depth

  • Width: 72

  • Depth: 72

Rename this section as ColSec_P2

Assign Material as: Fc_5ksi

Enter Witdh and Depth

  • Width: 204

  • Depth: 78

Rename this section as ColSec_P3

Assign Material as: Fc_5ksi

Assign Material as: A709_50W

Assign Material as: A709_50W

Create a new section by defining its name as RigidSection

  • # of Rows: 2

  • Row Spacing: 1.27 in

Click Add.
