Bolted Field Splice [EX1-SIG]
After clicking on 'Superstructure> Connections> Bolted Field Splice' in the navigation treeview, follow the steps to define the Bolted Field Splice. You can use the collapsed documentation page below for more information on the explanations of each parameter.
1 | Click the three-dots icon on the Girder cell, and then set G1. |

2 | As a result of these operations, an issue will appear on the OpenBrIM screen. This does not necessarily mean that any operation was done incorrectly. The issue will be resolved when the bolt property is set in the next step. | |

4 | Go to the Bolt category. |

5 | Click the three-dots icon on the Web Bolt Property cell, and then set BoltWeb. |

6 | Click the three-dots icon on the Flange Bolt Property cell, and then set BoltFla. |

7 | Keep the Show Bolts(Detailing) as default. |

8 | Return to the Girder category and set name as Splice1. |

9 | Enter the Station as 118.7. |
|
10 | Enter the Gap Between Girders as 0. |

11 | Keep the Web Weld Size and Web Weld Clearance as default. | |
12 | You can edit the Web Splice dimensions of Bolted Field Splice from Web Splice tab.

13 | Click three-dots icon on Plate Material cells and select a Material as A709 50W. If you have reached this stage and you don't have a material to select, and if you want to use the Import Button, you can refer to the Quick Tip. |

15 | You can edit the Top Flange Splice dimensions of Bolted Field Splice from Top Flange Splice tab.

16 | Click three-dots icon on Plate Material cells and select a Material as A709 50W.

17 | You can edit the Bottom Flange Splice dimensions of Bolted Field Splice from Bottom Flange Splice tab.

18 | Click three-dots icon on Plate Material cells and select a Material as A709 50W.

19 | When the steps are completed, the shared screenshot displayed in the adjacent cell should be visible in the 3D view of OpenBrIM. |

20 | To model all the bolted field splices, copy the data below and paste the parameters into the first cell in OpenBrIM spreadsheet. Refer to the quick tip for an easy guide on how to perform the copy operation. After completing the copy, proceed to the next step to verify the model. |
