Bearing Forces [SIG]

Bearing Forces [SIG]

To define the bearing results for forces and moments in all directions to be shared, this object can be utilized. For the object to function properly, users must ensure that the FEA has been run for the model. To ensure these results are shared with another project, the Transfer Result Extractions parameter must be set to "YES" on the related object in the Cross Project Data (Shared Objects/Shared Substructure).

General

Bearing: Specify the related bearing.

Extract From [Result Case/ Load Combination Table]: This parameter can be specified using the options provided: either Result Case or Load Combination Table. Further definitions can be made by the parameters Result Case or Load Combination Table.

Result Case: If the parameter Extract From is defined with the option Result Case, this parameter can be used to further define the specific case from which the specified bearing forces will be extracted for sharing. If Extract From is defined with the option Load Combination Table, this parameter will not be applicable (N/A).

Load Combination Table: If the parameter Extract From is defined with the option Load Combination Table, this parameter can be used to further define the Load Combination Table from which the specified bearing forces will be extracted for sharing. If Extract From is defined with the option Result Case, this parameter will not be applicable (N/A).

Limit State: Users can specify the limit state based on which the results will be extracted. This parameter can only be specified if the Extract From parameter is defined with the option Load Combination Table.

Force Extraction Settings

Since the applied loads may create critical values for Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, and Mz — with "critical" referring to maximum positive, minimum negative, or absolute maximum — due to transitional loads such as live loads, wind loads, temperature loads, etc., the results for bearings can be classified using several options. These options are provided to allow the results to be shared with a child model.

Maximize Force: Users can choose to maximize results for all forces and moments (Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My, and Mz) or for a specific component individually. For instance, if Fz is chosen for this parameter's definition, all the forces corresponding to the case that creates the critical Fz (absolute max/max/min) will be displayed in the extracted forces. This parameter can be defined using the options available in the pop-up window when the 'Select' option is chosen. This parameter can be defined using the options visible in the pop-up window when the 'Select' option is chosen.

Min/Max [Abs. Max/Max/Min]: Maximum represents positive values, Minimum represents negative values, and Absolute Maximum refers to the largest value by magnitude, whether positive or negative.

Set Max Target [Self/Target]: The bearing result can be extracted by filtering to display either the maximum result of the bearing itself or the maximum result obtained for a specified target.

Max Target [Bottom of Column/Top of Pile Layout]: If the Set Max Target parameter is defined with the option Target, this parameter can be used to specify the target as either Bottom of Column or Top of Pile Layout.

Column: If the Max Target parameter is set to Bottom of Column, this parameter can be used to specify the related column.

Pile Layout: If the Max Target parameter is set to Top of Pile Layout, this parameter can be used to specify the related pile layout.

Pile Layout Pile Index: For the specified pile layout, this parameter can be used to define the specific index.

Extracted Forces

This tab displays the specified results along with details of the cases/load combination tables, force settings, and the date and time of the result extraction.

Extracted From: The specified result case or load combination table is displayed in this column.

Force Settings: Details of the extracted forces are displayed in this column.

Last Result Extraction: The date and time of the last result extraction are displayed in this column.

Fx: Read-only value representing the reaction force of the bearing along the X-axis.

Fy: Read-only value representing the reaction force of the bearing along the Y-axis.

Fz: Read-only value representing the reaction force of the bearing along the Z-axis.

Mx: Read-only value representing the moment of the bearing around the X-axis.

My: Read-only value representing the moment of the bearing around the Y-axis.

Mz: Read-only value representing the moment of the bearing around the Z-axis.

Coordinate System: The coordinate system for which the results are displayed is shown in this column.
