Shared Objects [SIG]
An object or an object group can be shared with another project, along with the FEA results and code checks or reports that were generated accordingly.
For this purpose, this object can be utilized.
Pick Objects: The objects that exist in the 3D model can be chosen by the option ‘Pick…’ or by the option ‘Select…’. When the option ‘Select…’ is chosen for object selection, the pop-up window will appear. When an object is chosen, the previously defined parametric objects related to the selected one will automatically be selected.
For example, when a bearing is chosen in the Pick Objects cell, utilizing the Select option will automatically select the related insertion point assigned to the bearing for location definitions, along with the associated support line, bridge, and alignment. This feature simplifies the process for users by automatically selecting objects related to the chosen object definitions.
Select Objects: Objects that cannot be picked, such as code check reports that are not visible on the project screen, are selected using 'Select Object'.
For instance, if the Pier Cap Code Check object is chosen, the associated limit states assigned to that code check, the code check template, and other related library objects will automatically be selected. This feature simplifies the process for users by automatically selecting objects related to the chosen object definitions.
Select Files: In addition to 3D models, code checks, and any objects that exist in the workflow, reports can also be selected as Shared Objects. One important consideration for users is that a report must be saved before it can be shared using this feature.
By default, all OpenBrIM reports are parametric. However, when a user saves a report, OpenBrIM creates a snapshot of the parametric report. This process breaks the parametric link, meaning the saved report is no longer parametric but remains useful as a static snapshot that can be transferred to different projects.
For instructions on how to save a report, refer to the info box below. Only saved reports can be selected for sharing with this parameter.
Saving Reports
The same procedure can also be applied to Design Reports.
Generated reports can be accessed by clicking the DOCS button on the left-hand side bar.
Then, by clicking the icon next to the related report, the user will see the report displayed in the OpenBrIM interface.
To download the report, the ‘Save’ button in the top right corner of the screen can be used. Although the user is presented with a report in HTML format, the downloaded report will be in PDF format and can be found in the related folder on the local PC after the download process is complete.
Transfer Result Extractions [YES/NO]: The result extractions can be transferred if this parameter is set to ‘YES’. The results to be extracted must be defined in the Analysis Results section of Cross-Project Data.
