Pier Section Property Override [STG]

Pier Section Property Override [STG]

Since seismic analysis requires sections to be updated with cracked inertia and the structure to be analyzed accordingly, this object can be used to override a section's properties, such as pier columns.

The inputs for this object include factors that will be multiplied by the section's Area, Shear Area Y/Z, Torsion Constant, and Inertia Y/Z values (found under Properties > Sections) when defined.

Section Overrides

Pier Column: Specify the modeled column whose properties will be overridden.

Stage: Specify the stage at which the column with changed properties will be considered for both FEM and design.

Section Area Factor: Define the area factor that will be multiplied by the section's area.

Section Shear Area Y Factor: Define the shear area factor for the Y direction that will be multiplied by the section's shear area.

Section Shear Area Z Factor:Define the shear area factor for the Z direction that will be multiplied by the section's shear area.

Section Torsion Constant Factor: Define the factor that will be multiplied by the section's torsion constant.

Section Inertia Y Factor: Define the inertia factor for the Y direction that will be multiplied by the section's inertia.

Section Inertia Z Factor: Define the inertia factor for the Z direction that will be multiplied by the section's inertia.
