Parameter

This part can be used when users desire to introduce new global parameters and use them to define parameters of other objects. Any changes made to the value of these parameters will result in corresponding updates to all affected parameters.

Parameter Name: To reference this parameter in other cells within the spreadsheet, use this name. You can easily use this parameter name in other cells or in equations within other cells. For example, if the parameter name is 'SpanLength,' you may assign the second support line location as 'SpanLength' and the third support location as '2*SpanLength'.

Parameter Value: Modifying the value of this parameter will result in updates to all related parameters.

Unit Label (readonly): Displays the unit associated with the parameter.

Parameter Type[number/text]: If you select "text," parametric computations will not evaluate the written string value. For most use cases, the number type should be chosen instead.

Unit Type[Length/Area/Force/Angle……]: Parametric computation always utilizes a single unit (inch&kip), hence the entered value will be converted to internal values based on the unit type selected. The software comprehends the conversion factor between the display unit and internal unit, which is employed for parametric computations.

Unit Category: The unit category is used to specify the display units. For instance, if the property is selected, it will utilize the display unit of the property category.

Station Dependent: If the parameter changes across stations, select "yes" here. For instance, if a station-dependent parameter is assigned the Z coordinate of a node, it will utilize the X parameter to identify the station and assign the corresponding Z coordinate value. If, for instance, the node's Z coordinate has a value of 100 between stations 0-50 and 200 between stations 50-100, you may choose "yes" and subsequently specify the variation.
