Concrete U Girder [EX1-CUG]

Concrete U Girder [EX1-CUG]

Please follow the instructions provided below to create Concrete U Girder

1

Navigate to Girders >Concrete U Girder

2

To set a layout for the girder, click on the three-dot icon in the Girder Layout cell and choose an appropriate layout option from the combobox.

Assign "GL1" to the Girder Layout cell.

3

To edit an U Girder section, click on the three-dot icon located on the first cell of the "Girder Sections" and click "Edit".

4

The "CUG1" beam that has been specified will exhibit changes in its cross-section in accordance with the station. The sections "U78G5" and "U54G5" which were established on the preceding "Section" page, will be applied at distinct stations in Concrete U Girder.

5

Choose the "Reference Support Line" option.

Utilize the "Station Difference Along PGL" parameter to designate the specific station where you intend to position section. Subsequently, associate a section with the corresponding station as part of your definition.

6

Subsequently, determine the desired appearance of the Variation transitions.

7

Apply the station-dependent configuration for "SL1" (Reference Support Line) throughout the entire bridge span.

8

Also enter Haunch Thickness as 4

9

Navigate “FEA Settings” tab

10

Within OpenBrIM Workflows, when you define a "RigidSection" in the Section spreadsheet, it offers a streamlined approach when defining other objects.

This entails an automatic assignment of the "Rigid Section" parameter as in the figure

11

The girder FE model will be automatically generated by the OpenBrIM based on the parametric relation between the 3D and FEM in the library component. The girder section is represented using FeLine elements for flanges and FeSurface elements for the web.

12

Within the project, there are two Concrete U Girders.

For the purpose of defining the second Girder, utilize the "GL2" parameter in the Girder Layout.

13

Ensure that all the actions performed for "CUG1" are also replicated for "CUG2".

1

Navigate to Plate Girder under Steel Girders on the tree view.

2

Copy Girder Parameters and FEA Setting from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

Completed girders is illustrated below.
