Surfaces
Surface object represents a three or four-noded element in a finite element model supporting both membrane (including drilling) and bending action.
Creating surface object requires four nodes. User may fill the table by entering desired node names manually or the ”Pick Nodes” command can be used.
Surfaces can be broken into multiple segments by using command “Break”. Doing so, OpenBrIM creates new required node and surface objects.
Global Offset:
Offset of an end node with respect to the global coordinate system.
Changing nodal offset does not change the location of corresponding node. Instead, surface object is effected solely.
Local Offset:
Offset of an end node with respect to the related surface orientation
Changing nodal offset does not change the location of corresponding node. Instead, surface object is effected solely.
