Lines can be broken into multiple segments by using command “Break”. Doing so, OpenBrIM creates new required nodesnode and line objects.

Section:
See Also:Sections
Lines are representation of real life three dimensional objects. Hence, they require “Section” parameter. Section attribute contains properties such as depth, width, inertia etc. which are essential in FEA.
User can assign Section a section to a line Line object either by defining a new one or by calling from OpenBrIM database.
To attain create a section there should be at least one material defined in the project.

After Section attribute is selected for a Line object there are multiple configurations user can change such as Beta Angle and Local Axis Orientation.
...
Global Offset:
Offset of an end node with respect to the global coordinate system.
Changing nodal offset does not change the location of corresponding node. Instead, line object is effected solely.
...
Local Offset:
Offset of an end node with respect to the related line orientation
Changing nodal offset does not change the location of corresponding node. Instead, line object is effected solely.
