Line object represents a two-noded member in a finite element model.
OpenBrIM app currently supports : Beam, Truss, Compression Truss, Tension Truss, Cable and Inelastic Line type of two-node finite elements.
Modeling a line requires two nodes. User may fill the table by entering desired node names manually or the ”Pick Nodes” command can be used.
Lines can be broken into multiple segments by using command “Break”. Doing so, OpenBrIM creates new required node and line objects.

See Also:Sections
Lines are representation of real life three dimensional objects. Hence, they require “Section” parameter. Section attribute contains properties such as depth, width, inertia etc. which are essential in FEA.
User can assign Section to a line either by defining a new one or by calling from OpenBrIM database.
To attain a section there should be at least one material defined in the project.
