Please follow the instructions provided below to create Pier Cap/Bent code check

Navigate Templates for Code Check > Pier Cap Code Check

It is necessary to define 2 code check templates for pier cap and end bent control.

Enter the name in the Name column as follows:

  • for Pier Cap: PierCapCT

  • for End Bent: EBCapCT

Click three-dots icon on Load Combination Table and set SubstructureLCT.

Since the Pier/Bent Cap is a substructure element the appropriate Load Combination Table to assign would be "SubstructureLCT".

Keep other parameters constant as follows.

“Procedures for Shear Resistance Parameters ß and θ ..”: Generalized

“Include acxial effects on flexure and shear computation?” : Yes

“Flexure Sign (Effective Shear Depth)”: Use Critical Shear Concurrent Bending Moment

Click three-dots icon on Select State Provisions and assign FDOT both of them


Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

Navigate to Pier Cap Code Check T under Templates for Code Check and Load Rating on the tree view.

Copy General from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

The Pier Cap Code Check have been created.


 Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM

Copy the desired data with the automatic copy button in the upper left corner.

Click on the first cell in and use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste.

If icon won’t appear, collapse page tree menu by clicking on arrow or using shortcut “[”.

While pasting large data, it would be handy to turn of Auto-refresh .
