Please follow the instructions provided below to create Tub Girders.
1 | Navigate to Steel Girders > Tub Girder
2 | Click on the three-dot icon located on the Girder Layout cell, and then set a layout for the girder. Set GL1 and GL2 to Girder Layout cell
3 | To edit the tub girder top flange width and enter a station-dependent thickness:
4 | Click on the three-dot icon located on the top flange width cell, and then select "Edit" at combobox. Enter 22 for GL1 and GL2 top flange width.
5 | At selected station depended, the top flange thickness may vary. Click on the three-dot icon located on the top flange thickness cell, and then select "Edit (Spreadsheet)" at combobox. Enter the top flange thickness station data as in the figure 2.
6 | Enter 78 to Web Depth Projected to CL of box cell.
7 | Top Flange thickness, web depth and thickness, bottom flange width and thickness, haunch thickness, and additional haunch width parameters can be defined similarly to top flange width. You can use “Edit” or “Edit (Spreadsheet)”.
8 | Click on the three-dot icon located on the top flange material cell and then select "A709_50W" from the previously imported material types in the combobox. Follow the same step to define the Web Material and Bottom Flange Material types.
9 | Navigate to FEA Setting at spreadsheet. To assign previously defined "RigidSections" to cells in the Rigid Section column: Click on the three-dot icon located on the cell of the Rigid Section column. In the comboboxbox, click select Select the desired RigidSection from the list of previously defined Sections.
10 | The girder FE model will be automatically generated by the OpenBrIM based on the parametric relation between the 3D and FEM in the library component. The girder section is represented using FeLine elements for flanges and FeSurface elements for the web.
11 |
Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.
1 | Navigate to Tub Girder under Steel Girders on the tree view. |
2 | Copy Girder Parameters from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. |
3 | Navigate to FEA Settings under Plate Girder on the tree view. |
4 | Copy FEA Settings from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. |
5 | Also, you can copy the station dependent section data from model inputs, and paste the related Edit Spreadsheet tab. |
Completed Tub Girder is illustrated below.
