Follow the next steps to add F shape barriers to both sides of the bridge.

Go to F Shape Barrier on the tree view.

Click three-dots icon on Deck and select a deck.

Select the Orientation of the barriers on both sides.

Set the concrete Material of the barrier.

Enter Start Transverse Offset and End Transverse Offset.

Go to Dimensions tab.

Enter Height and Width.

 Quick Tip

Barriers are included in the FE model to distribute the Wind Forces.

Also, by assigning a section, you can define a custom shaped barrier.

 Quick Tip: Transverse Offset Direction

Offset values use PGL as the reference point.


Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

Go to F Shape Barrier under Superstructure Attachments on the tree view.

Copy F Shape Barrier, and Dimensions from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.


Completed F shape barrier is illustrated below.


 Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM

Copy the desired data with the automatic copy button in the upper left corner.

Click on the first cell in and use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste.

If icon won’t appear, collapse page tree menu by clicking on arrow or using shortcut “[”.

While pasting large data, it would be handy to turn of Auto-refresh .
