A read-only keyword in the column header means those cells are not editable by the user – even the lock icon is open since they are the outputs of the calculations made by OpenBrIM Platform utilizing the inputs by the user.

, showing or hiding them as needed. This area serves as the primary input location for users working on their projects.

Tree view: Every item within the tree view corresponds to a library object. When a user clicks on a tree view item, the necessary parameters for creating that library object are displayed in the spreadsheet. Typically, templates organize library objects in the tree view with an intuitive format that follows the thought process of bridge engineers, starting with the alignment and ending with specification checks and report objects. Additionally, please note that there may be variations between each template's treeview.

titleWhat kind of user interface (UI) changes occur when you switch between two different templates?

When switching between two different workflows, the most notable changes to the user interface (UI) are typically in the tree view and the library components(each item in the tree view represents a library component) displayed within it.

For example, in the screenshot below, the main difference between the workflows for Steel I Girder and Tub Girder bridges is the presence of cross-frame objects, bottom flange stiffeners (only in Tub Girder), and girder components.

Spreadsheet: OpenBrIM primarily utilizes spreadsheets to gather inputs, leveraging the familiarity of Excel spreadsheets for engineers. We have incorporated several familiar spreadsheet functionalities into OpenBrIM, including drag-and-drop capabilities, cross-referencing cells, and parametric computations.

You can refer to the following table to gain an understanding of parameter entry in data window.
