Please note that the initial download process for the library components take approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete. The reopening of the same project will experience a notable increase in speed, primarily due to the caching of OpenBrIM library objects within your browser. The loading of library objects during this process generally takes less than 2-3 seconds.

Choose "Generative: Modeling" and then select "Steel I Girder Bridge Layout."

A warning message is displayed, indicating that the superstructure generation requires at least one alignment. Prior to continuing with this step, let's navigate back to the spreadsheet to create an alignment.

→ Click on the 'DATA' button located in the bottom-middle section of the screen.

This will open a spreadsheet.

→ Input a Bridge Start Station value of 0 feet and a Bridge Length value of 530 feet.

→ Click Generate

→ Now, return to the Support Lines Spreadsheet and modify the support stations to the following values: 0, 160, 370, 530.

The concept here is that after generating the objects, users have the flexibility to customize the model according to their requirements by adjusting these parameters. For instance, another crucial step following model generation involves navigating to the Plate Girder spreadsheet and entering plate dimensions.

→ Now go back to boundary conditions and modify your bearing fixities and transfer forces to substructure parameter.

As we have created two substructures for Support Line 1 and Support Line 2, the "Transfer Forces to Substructure" parameter should be set to "Yes" for these specific locations.

Revolutionizing Bridge Design with AI-Powered Innovation

Tip

The OpenBrIM platform is currently being trained with machine learning algorithms to automatically generate better inputs for cases where they were not entered while using generative objects. Additionally, we will implement constraints specific to your project site to create bridges that better meet your requirements. Exciting developments are on the horizon, so stay tuned!
