Reinforcements

In the "Reinforcements" section, you will find a list of all analytical beams presented in the spreadsheet. Additionally, the beam sections are visually displayed in the drawing space, as depicted in Figure 2. This allows for a comprehensive view of the beams and their corresponding sections, aiding in the design and reinforcement process.

AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite enables user to create layered rebar templates or arbitrary rebar templates easily.

Layered Rebar Templates

First way;

→ Click Create New Template cell of Show Layered Rebar Templates column of desired analytical beam in the spreadsheet as illustrated in Figure 2.

Figure 2

This short cut will assign the template directly to selected analytical beam but user can assign the created template to other beams.

Figure 3

→ Select the transverse reinforcement in the spreadsheet

→ Enter clear cover to stirrup in the spreadsheet

→ Enter transverse spacing in the spreadsheet

→ Enter leg number

→ Click Reinforcements button shown in Figure 3 to go back to reinforcements spreadsheet

→ Click Show to add rebar layers

Show button will open the longitudinal reinforcement spreadsheet as illustrated in Figure 4

Figure 4

→ Click Add to add rebar layer

→ Select rebar of the layer in the spreadsheet

→ Enter rebar count along the layer in the spreadsheet

→ Enter distance to extreme fiber in the spreadsheet

→ Select the layer location in the spreadsheet

→ Click Back To Rebar Template button to go back to the previous spreadsheet

Arbitrary Rebar Templates

First way;

→ Click Create New Template cell of Show Arbitrary Rebar Templates column of desired analytical beam in the spreadsheet as illustrated in Figure 5.

Figure 5

This short cut will assign the template directly to selected analytical beam but user can assign the created template to other beams.

Figure 6

→ Select the transverse reinforcement in the spreadsheet

→ Enter clear cover to stirrup in the spreadsheet

→ Enter transverse spacing in the spreadsheet

→ Enter leg number

→ Click Reinforcements button shown in Figure 7 to go back to reinforcements spreadsheet

→ Click Draw Rebars button to add rebars

Figure 7

→ Enter a value as shown in Figure 7

AEC|BOLT Building Design Suite will create reference lines for user to guide the reinforcement placement.

Figure 8

→ Click on the point where rebar center will be located as illustrated in Figure 8

→ Click Show Rebars to add rebar layers

Show rebars button will open the longitudinal reinforcement spreadsheet as illustrated in Figure 9

Figure 9

→ Select rebar number of added reinforcements

X&Y local coordinates of the rebars are shown in the spreadsheet demonstrated in Figure 9

→ Click Back to Rebar Template to go back to previous spreadsheet.
