The design process of steel girder bridges typically involves modeling the construction of pier caps, pier columns, foundations, and piles as a single stage to streamline the analysis and reduce the number of required stages. However, in real-world construction, these components may be constructed separately over multiple stages, depending on factors such as site conditions, available resources, and project schedule. OpenBrIM offers features that allow users to model these details with various stages and time-dependent staged construction analysis.

Please follow the instructions provided below to define construction of substructure bridge components.

1

Navigate to Loading > Construction > Substructre > Pier Cap/End Bent (Complete)

2

Click three-dots icon on Stage cell and click select.

3

Select "SubstrConstStage" as stage.

4

Click three-dots icon on Pier Caps cell and click pick.

5

Select all of the Pier Caps that were previously defined from the 3D View.

Figure will be added

6

Then click Done.

Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

1

Go to Pier Cap/End Bent (Complete) under Substructure on the tree view.

2

Copy Pier Cap Construction from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM
