Please follow the instructions provided below to add piles.

Navigate to Substructure > Pile.

Click three-dots icon on Substructure and select or pick footing.

The number of piles that placed under the foundations defined in the previous steps are as follows, based on the project specifications:

RF1: 9 pieces

RF2: 9 pieces

F1: 25 pieces

Click three-dots icon on the Section Data and click edit.

Enter the section data as follows for P1 (Pile).

  • Section Length (Starts from Top) [ft]: 25

  • Start Section: PileSec

  • End Section: PileSec

Apply the section data set from the previous step to all piles in the project, as they are identical.

Enter pile Longitudinal Offset and Transverse Offset from the footing origin for each Piles.

Navigate to FEA tab.

Click three-dots icon on Pile Properties and click Edit.

Edit Tx/Ty/Tz/Rz properties.

Enter the section data in the Pile Properties spreadsheet as in the figure

Apply the Pile Properties data set from the previous step to all piles in the project, as they are identical.

Enter a pile capacity (kip) of 360 for each pile.

 Quick Tip: Transverse Offset Direction

Offset values use PGL as the reference point.

Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

Navigate to Pile under Substructure on the tree view.

Copy Pile from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

Navigate to FEA under Pile on the tree view.

Copy FEA data from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

The Pile that have been created are illustrated below.

With this step, the bridge model is now complete.

 Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM

Copy the desired data with the automatic copy button in the upper left corner.

Click on the first cell in and use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste.

If icon won’t appear, collapse page tree menu by clicking on arrow or using shortcut “[”.

While pasting large data, it would be handy to turn of Auto-refresh .
