Follow the next steps to define shear stud.

Go to Shear Stud on the tree view.

Set/Pick a Girder.

Enter Start & End Stations where the shear studs will be placed.

Go to Shear Stud tab.

Edit dimension and spacing/count data.

 You can enable/disable display the detailing of shear studs by editing Show Bolts as in splice spreadsheet.

 Quick Tip

Start and End Station parameters of the Shear Stud should take into account skew angle.

For example, if the Insertion Point has a skew angle as 30°, Shear Stud Start and End Stations should be updated by multiplying with the sinus of the skew angle.


Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

Go to Shear Stud under Connections on the tree view.

Copy Position, and Shear Stud from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM.

Completed deck bolted field splice is illustrated below.


 Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM

Copy the desired data with the automatic copy button in the upper left corner.

Click on the first cell in and use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste.

If icon won’t appear, collapse page tree menu by clicking on arrow or using shortcut “[”.

While pasting large data, it would be handy to turn of Auto-refresh .
