Changing Web Dimension

Please follow the instructions provided below to change girder web dimensions.

Example model to experience the steps from 1 to 4

Go to the 'Plate Girder' object in the workflow.

Click on the 'Web Depth' input cell of the girder you want to change the web depth. Then, click on the three dots that appear on the right side of the cell. After that, click on 'Edit (Spreadsheet)'.

  • In the newly opened spreadsheet, we can define the 'Web Depth' parameter as station dependent.

  • After the definition is done, press the 'Back' button to apply the changes to the project.

  • You can also define other parameters of the girder as station dependent.

Align Cross-Frame Skew with Support Line Skew

Please follow the instructions provided below to align the cross-frame skew with the support line's skew.

Click on the 'Support Line' object in the workflow to set the skew angle.

When the skew angle value of 'Abut 1' is zero, it appears like this.

When the skew angle of 'Abut 1' changes, it appears like this.

As seen, the cross-frames are not aligned according to the support line.

  • To align the skew angle of the cross-frame with the support line, click on the three dots to the right of the skew angle input cell of the support line.

  • Then, click on 'Copy Parameter'. Now, the value of the skew angle has been copied parametrically.

  • The parameter we copied exactly is: Abut1.s_skew

  • Therefore, the copied value will also change whenever the skew angle of ‘Abut 1’ changes.

Go to the cross-frame objects where the skew angle will change. Click on the three dots to the right of the 'Skew Angle' input cell.

(Instead, after clicking on the cell, you can also paste it using CTRL+V.)

You no longer need to manually change the skew angles of cross-frames every time the support line skew angle changes. The skew angle value of cross-frames will now be parametrically equal to the skew angle value of the support line.
