Shear Stud [SIG]
Shear Studs does not directly affect the finite element model and is used only for design and 3D visualization purposes.
Position
Girder: Choose the plate girder
Start Station: The start station of Shear Studs, calculated based on the PGL.
End Station: The station is located along the PGL. If the shear stud parameters, such as diameter, number of studs per row, spacing of studs in row, and spacing between rows, are the same between two stations, those stations can be used as the start and end stations.
Shear Stud
The parameters listed below can be defined for detailed specifications of the shear studs. For a visual representation of each parameter, please refer to the figures below.
Diameter: Diameter of each shear stud.
Shear Stud In-Place Height: This parameter can be used to specify the in-place height of the shear studs.
Shear Stud Head Thickness: This parameter can be used to specify the thickness of the shear stud heads.
No. of Studs Per Row: This parameter can be used to specify the number of studs in each row.
Spacing of Studs in Row: This parameter can be used to set the center-to-center distance of studs within a row.
Spacing Between Rows: This parameter can be used to specify the spacing between rows of studs.
Number of Segments Used to Draw the Bolt:The "Number of Segments Used to Draw the Bolt" refers to how many discrete parts or segments are used to represent a bolt in a graphical or computational model.
Show Studs (Detailing) [NO/YES]: To display the shear studs, this parameter should be set to ‘YES,’ and the DETAILING button on the top middle bar must be turned on.
Quantities
Shear Stud Count: The total number of shear studs for each row, based on user definitions, is calculated and presented to the user under this column.
