After clicking on 'Substructure> Pier> Pier Cap' in the navigation treeview, follow the steps to define the Pier Cap. You can use the collapsed documentation page below for more information on the explanations of each parameter.

(blue star) Click the three-dots icon on the Location cell, and then set Pier2.

As a result of these operations, an issue will appear on the OpenBrIM screen. This does not necessarily mean that any operation was done incorrectly. The issue will be resolved when the pier cap section is define in the next step.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on the Straight-Tapered Section / Length cell and click Edit.

(blue star) Enter the Section Length as 6.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on Start Section cell and select a Section as PierCapRec_Taper.

If you have reached this stage and you don't have a section to select, and if you want to use the Import Button, you can refer to the Quick Tip.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on End Section cell and select a Section as PierCapRec_Mid.

(blue star) Move to the second row.

(blue star) Enter the Section Length as 36.5.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on Start Section cell and select a Section as PierCapRec_Mid.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on End Section cell and select a Section as PierCapRec_Mid.

(blue star) Enter the Section Length as 6.

(blue star) Click three-dots icon on Start Section cell and select a Section as PierCapRec_Mid.

(blue star) Click the three-dots icon on the Slope Option cell, and then set Alignment.
