Analyzing for gravity loads and integration of lateral load design forces into AEC|BOLT BIM platform is achieved by exporting the mathematical model of the building to the well-accepted finite element analysis software ETABS.
Obtaining analysis results from ETABS for the building model created in AEC|BOLT Building Design Suite need satisfying the steps below:
Adding AEC|BOLT ETABS Plugin
Connecting to Building Platform Library to “Pull” the model into ETABS
Analyzing the model in ETABS
Connecting to Building Platform Library to “Push” the model into BDS

→ Go to Tools then click AEC | BOLT link to connect the Building Design Suite Library as shown in Figure 1.

→ Click YES to the pop up warning demonstrated in Figure 2.
A pop up window of AEC|BOLT BIM platform will open.

Log in with your AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite account as illustrated in Figure 3. After log in you will be directed to your library.

→ Click on the project which to be transferred to Etabs.

→ Click 3D view to see the 3D model of the building as illustrated in Figure 5.
→ Click Finite View to see the analytical model of the building as illustrated in Figure 6.
The finite model generated by AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite will be transferred to etabs for analysis. You can easily re-generate the finite model if the generated model is not accurate for analysis (for example if not updated after the changes in 3D model). See FE Model page.

→ Click Pull to transfer the model to etabs.

Run analysis. Then click Push button to import the analysis results to AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite.
When the import of analysis results is done, go to AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite Analysis Results section see the results.
