Location

Girder: Pick the girder for which the internal diaphragm will be generated.

Skew Angle: Define the skew angle for the diaphragm.

Is it an Intermediate or Pier/End Diaphragm?[Intermediate/Pier-End]: This parameter can be used to define whether the diaphragm is an intermediate diaphragm or a pier-end diaphragm.

Station: If the diaphragm is defined as an intermediate diaphragm, a station can be specified by this parameter to further define the location of the diaphragm. If the diaphragm is defined as a pier-end diaphragm, this parameter will not be applicable.

Select Pier/End: If the diaphragm is defined as a pier-end diaphragm, this parameter can be used to define the location of the diaphragm, as the support line can be selected. If the diaphragm is defined as intermediate, this parameter will not be applicable.

Offset from Pier/End: For pier-end diaphragms, an offset value can be defined with respect to the support line chosen with the Select Pier/End parameter.

Material: Assign a material to the diaphragm. A material can either be imported or assigned from a previously defined one under Properties - Materials.

Section Details

Does the Top Flange Exist?[YES/NO]: Specify whether a top flange exists or not.

Does the Bottom Flange Exist? [YES/NO]: Specify whether a bottom flange exists or not.

Plate Thickness: The plate thickness can be specified using this parameter. For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Top Flange Width: If the top flange exists and the parameter is defined with the option 'YES,' the width of the top flange can be specified using this parameter; otherwise, it will be not applicable (N/A). For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Top Flange Thickness: If the top flange exists and the parameter is defined with the option 'YES,' the thickness of the top flange can be specified using this parameter; otherwise, it will be not applicable (N/A). For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Top Flange Gap from Girder Top Flange: For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Bottom Flange Width: If the bottom flange exists and the parameter is defined with the option 'YES,' the width of the bottom flange can be specified using this parameter; otherwise, it will be not applicable (N/A). For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Bottom Flange Thickness: If the bottom flange exists and the parameter is defined with the option 'YES,' the thickness of the bottom flange can be specified using this parameter; otherwise, it will be not applicable (N/A). For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Bottom Flange Gap from Girder Bottom Flange Edge: For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

3D Details

Cope (Bottom Corners): For visual representation, refer to the figure below.

Does a Manhole Exist? [YES/NO]: This parameter can be used to specify whether or not a manhole exists on the diaphragm.

Manhole Width: If the manhole exists (parameter defined with the option 'YES'), the width of the manhole can be adjusted using this parameter; otherwise, this parameter will not be applicable.

Manhole Height: If the manhole exists (parameter defined with the option 'YES'), the height of the manhole can be adjusted using this parameter; otherwise, this parameter will not be applicable.

Manhole Edge Radius: If the manhole exists (parameter defined with the option 'YES'), the edge radius of the manhole can be adjusted using this parameter; otherwise, this parameter will not be applicable.

Manhole Vertical Offset: If the manhole exists (parameter defined with the option 'YES'), the vertical offset of the manhole can be adjusted using this parameter; otherwise, this parameter will not be applicable.

Stiffener

Transverse Stiffener Data:

  • Offset From Center: The offset from the center of the diaphragm can be defined by this parameter. When looking upstream along PGL, a negative value indicates a position to the left.

  • Stiffener Thickness: The thickness of the stiffeners can be adjusted using this parameter.

  • Stiffener Width: The width of the stiffeners can be adjusted using this parameter.

  • Distance from Top of Web: The distance from the top of the web to the stiffener can be adjusted using this parameter.

  • Distance from Bottom of Web: The distance from the bottom of the web to the stiffener can be adjusted using this parameter.

  • Vertical Clip Height: Vertical Clip Height for the stiffener can be adjusted by this parameter.

  • Horizontal Clip Width: Horizontal Clip Width for the stiffener can be adjusted by this parameter.
