To generate a child model from a master model (or, based on the terminology, a local model from a global model), or to combine several projects within a single project, this section of the All-In-One workflow can be utilized. For detailed guidance, refer to the relevant section on External References in the documentation: Creating a Local Substructure Model for Soil-Structure Interaction from a Global Model (QG-15).

By utilizing External References, users can:

Project 3D

  • Combine multiple bridges into a single model or consolidate reports related to a bridge (such as quantity take-off, code check reports, and load rating reports) along with the associated 3D model within a different project.

Project Objects

  • Merge multiple bridges (both 3D and FEM) using project objects, allowing for data manipulation as needed. Use case: Tub Girder and I Girder sharing the same substructure element.

  • Extract specific bridge elements (both 3D and FEM) and transfer them into a separate project. Use case: Enhance the substructure design without manipulating the master/global model.

Project Analysis Results

  • Utilize Project Analysis Results to replicate loads applied in a global/master model, enabling the independent analysis of elements under the same loading conditions and using identical definitions as in the global/master model.
