Girder

Follow the steps below after clicking on Superstructure > Steel Girders > Plate Girder in the navigation treeview

1	Click three-dots icon on Girder Layout cell and set a layout.
2	Edit the plate girder dimensions. To enter a station-dependent dimension;
3	Click three-dots icon on Top Flange Width cell and Edit (spreadsheet).
4	Enter the Start Station as 0.
5	If the user enters the length along the girder, the end station and Station Difference will be calculated automatically. Conversely, if the user enters the end station, the length and Station Difference data will be calculated automatically.
6	Please enter the following values sequentially: 1^st row - Start Station: 0, End Station: 113.30, Top Flange Width: 16 2^nd row - Start Station: 113.30, End Station: 136.20, Top Flange Width: 21 3^rd row - Start Station: 136.20, End Station: 156.20, Top Flange Width: 21 4^th row - Start Station: 156.20, End Station: 176.20, Top Flange Width: 21 5^th row - Start Station: 176.20, End Station: 197.30, Top Flange Width: 21 6^th row - Start Station: 197.30, End Station: 361.30, Top Flange Width: 18
7	Top Flange Thickness, Web Depth and Thickness, Bottom Flange Width and Thickness, Haunch Thickness, and Additional Haunch Width Parameters can be defined similarly to Top Flange Width.
8	Quick Tip When encountering the warning as seen in OpenBrIM app, there is a "issue" , it is advised to review the parameters you have provided. This warning suggests that there might be a missing or incorrect parameter in your input. Check inputs to ensure they are accurate and complete.
9	When a warning is clicked, the reason can be displayed. The warning is expressed in the format of Warning Incoming Object Group > Object Name > Parameter Name.
10	To remove the warning, you need to set a value for the parameter. Click three-dots icon on Top Flange Material cells and select a Material as A709 50.
11	Quick Tip The reason for selecting the material parameter instead of importing its value is that the material objects have already been imported previously.
12	Web Material and Bottom Flange Material parameters can be defined similarly to Top Flange Material.
13	You can edit the FE mesh settings of girders from FEA Settings tab. Keep the mesh size and number of result extraction as default.
14	To model all the beams, you should go to the "model inputs" section on the page. The parameters here should be copied and pasted into the first cell in OpenBrIM.

Follow the below steps to copy and paste all inputs from our data set.

Copy Girder Parameters from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. Once the copy is finished, continue with the next step to check the completed model.

Quick Tip: Copy inputs to OpenBrIM

Copy the desired data with the automatic copy button in the upper left corner.

Click on the first cell in and use the Ctrl+V shortcut to paste.

If icon won’t appear, collapse page tree menu by clicking on arrow or using shortcut “[”.

While pasting large data, it would be handy to turn of Auto-refresh .
