Please follow the instructions provided below to add the pier cap.
1 | Navigate to Pier > Pier Cap | |
2 | Click three-dots icon on the Location cell and select two support line (Pier2 & Pier3) according to project. | |
3 | The "Prismatic" section type selection will remain constant. | |
4 | Click three-dots icon on the Prismatic Section cell and click Edit. | |
5 | Click three-dots icon on the Start Section cell and click Select for PC1 (1st Pier Cap). Select "HammerHeadSec" as the Starting Section. Also click three-dots icon on the End Section cell and click Select. Select "HammerHeadSec" as the End Section. | |
6 | Enter Section Length as 63 along Y-Y starting from right . | |
7 | Repeat the same steps from 2 to 5 for PC2 (2nd Pier Cap) as in the figure. Enter Section Length as 17 and 20 along Y-Y starting from right . | |
8 | Navigate back to pier cap, set Slope Option as Alignment. | |
9 | Enter Top Elevation Offset from Alignment [ft] value. | |
10 | Enter Transverse Offset [ft] value. | |
11 | Go to FEM tab and select a section for Rigid Section. |

Go to Pier Cap under Pier on the tree view. |
Copy End Bent from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. |
Go to FEM under Pier on the tree view. |
Copy FEM data from model inputs and paste into OpenBrIM. |
