Wind force is calculated by the AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite library object.
The computation of wind force is based on ASCE 7-05 analytical procedure.
Steps of calculation is as follows;
Velocity pressure exposure coefficients Kz or Kh are determined at each floor level and at the top of each paraphet.
Internal pressure coefficient GCpi is determined.
External pressure coefficients Cp are determined for windward and leeward directions.
Velocity pressure qz or qh is determined for each floor level and for each paraphet.
Design wind pressure p is determined for diaphrams and paraphets in windward and leeward directions at each floor level.
Design wind forces are calculated in accordance with ASCE 7-05 cases as shown in Figure 1.

AEC | BOLT Building Design Suite library object creates 12 force sets for 4 load cases to implement the variations of each load case. The flow of the wind force report document is shown in Figure 2
