🔬 Revisiting Design Templates with a Special Focus on Slabs:

Under the "Design Criteria" section, there is a dedicated subsection called "Design Templates" that deserves special attention when it comes to slab design. Within this subsection, you will find a comprehensive spreadsheet displaying a range of imported design templates (as depicted in Figure 1).

This spreadsheet serves as a centralized hub where all the design templates applicable to slabs and other structural elements are organized and presented. Each template represents a unique combination of design parameters.

By clicking on the "Design Templates" button (refer to Figure 1), you can access a wide range of pre-defined templates specifically designed to meet the unique requirements and considerations of slab design.

To select a slab design template, simply click on one of the available options displayed, as demonstrated in Figure 2.

Within the "Slab Design Template" spreadsheet (Figure 3), you have the ability to manage the rebar preferences for each defined template. This can be achieved by clicking on the "Show" button located in the corresponding template row cell.

Figure 4 depicts the window that is opened when you click on the "Show" button within the "Slab Design Template" spreadsheet.

Slab Design DB

By clicking on the "Slab Design DB" button, as illustrated in Figure 4, you can access a database window (Figure 5) that enables you to choose from a variety of pre-existing design templates. The database provides options based on specific criteria, preference, or custom user-defined rebar arrangements.

In the database section, you can access a variety of design templates for slab rebar arrangements. On the right side of the window (Figure 5), you'll find a blue link-text. Clicking on this link will open a browser window (Figure 6) where you can explore the corresponding library object associated with the selected design template.

Once you have made the desired selection, simply click on the "Import" button (Figure 5). Figure 7 illustrates the state after the selected rebar arrangement options have been successfully imported. At this stage, you can proceed with utilizing the imported design template for your slab rebar arrangement.

Add

By clicking the "Add" button, you can include a custom rebar arrangement for your slab design template. This allows you to define a specific rebar configuration and assign its priority in the column design process (Figure 8).

Once you have defined your preferred slab design rebar template, simply click on the "Back" button to proceed.

The slab design template used for a specific story is assigned from the "Slab Design Template" section.
