Alignment object is used to define roadway/bridge alignments.

User can import alignments from desired LandXML file or define a new one.

Importing Alignment From LandXML

  • Click icon next to the project name at the top left corner and select import.

  • Navigate through local files to find desired LandXML file.


Creating Alignment

  • Click icon on top left corner then go into “Assets” menu. Under the Alignments tab click + icon.

  • From the opening page user can see three different sub categories of alignments predefined in OpenBrIM.

One should keep in mind that OpenBrIM expects that every object, that uses alignment, spans in x direction.

Roadway alignment with respect to the top view ( Z surface )

Roadway alignment with respect to the side view ( Y surface )

Roadway alignment with respect to the front view ( X surface )


Horizontal

There are three different orientation options for horizontal alignment

  1. Straight

Required Inputs: Length

2. Circular

Required Inputs: Length, Direction [Towards Left, Towards Right], Radius

3. Transition

Required Inputs: Length, Direction [Towards Left, Towards Right], Radius@Start, Radius@End


Vertical


Transverse
