The computation of wind force is based on ASCE 7-05, Chapter 6, “Method 2 - Analytical Procedure” (6.5).

Steps The steps of calculation is are as follows;

  1. Velocity pressure exposure coefficients Kz or Kh are determined at each floor level and at the top levelof level of each paraphetparapet.

  2. Internal pressure coefficient GCpi is determined.

  3. External pressure coefficients Cp are determined for windward and leeward directions.

  4. Velocity pressure qz or qh is determined for each floor level and for each paraphetparapet.

  5. Design wind pressure p is determined for diaphrams and paraphets parapets in windward and leeward directions at each floor level.

  6. Design wind forces are calculated in accordance with ASCE 7-05 cases as shown in Figure 1.
