Info

Please follow the instructions provided below to define the load cases (classes) combined with the load factors.

1

The purpose of this section is created to collect the load cases and their max/min load factors accordingly and collects the load modifiers of that limit state.
Each instance is a definition of a limit state combination.(Strength/Service/Fatigue/Extreme Event etc.)This section defines unfactored cases for result extraction, which are mapped as DC, DW, LL, and WL in accordance with AASHTO specifications. If the Strength 1 limit state factors vary between the superstructure and substructure, two Strength 1 limit state cases can be specified here with different factors. Furthermore, different DOT amendments may supersede these factors, and users can modify them as needed within this section.

Click three-dots icon on Name cell and click Import OBPAASHTOLimitState.

6

To import the "AASHTO 9th Edition Load Combination" data into from the requested OpenBrIM core memory, simply choose OpenBrIM Library to your project, select it from the options available in the combobox.

In At this stage, ou need to define you are tasked with defining 18 load cases, which are classified categorized into the following categoriesgroups:

7

For Substructure:

  • StrengthI_sub

  • StrengthIII_sub

  • StrengthV_sub

  • ServiceI_sub

  • ServiceII_sub

  • ServiceIII_sub

  • ServiceIV_sub

For Superstructure:

  • StrengthI_sup

  • StrengthIII_sup

  • StrengthV_sup

  • ServiceI_sup

  • ServiceII_sup

  • StrengthIV_sup

For Constructibility

  • StrengthI_cons

  • StrengthIII_cons

  • StrengthV_cons

For Fatigue:

  • FatigueI

  • FatigueII

Navigate Load Cases 1 tabAt this point, you must assign the (unfactored load case) Result Extraction Cases (parameters) for the Limit States Components that were to Load Cases 1 tab.

Assign the unfactored result cases defined in the previous step .to DC1(Noncomposite Dead Load)

9

Click three-dots icon on DC1 (Noncomposite Dead Load) cell and click Select.

Select DC1_Sub result extraction cases for “StrengthI_sub” as in the figure

Then enter γmax & γmin data.

10

In order to set DC1 for all limit states, you should perform steps 8 to 9 again.can click and drag the fill handle (the small square in the lower-right corner of the selected cell)

11

In same way, keep selecting the load result cases for the corresponding limit statesdifferent load types

12

Load cases types not included in this example should remain as NULL.
