Please follow the instructions provided below to create Custom Diapgrahm.

1

Navigate to Diaphragm > Custom Diaphragm

Structural elements are used to ensure that the two Precast I Girder work together structurally, and these element is the "Diaphragm”.

The diaphragm is customizable because it allows you to assign any section/polygon according to your needs.

2

Click three-dots icon on Girders cell and pick the two Precast I Girders (G1 & G2) between which the External Diaphragm will be placed.

3

Enter skew Angle value as 0.

4

To position the Custom Diaphragm at the starting point between Precast I Girders G1 and G2, set the "Station" column to "Start" for the diaphragm that was defined in the previous step. This ensures that the diaphragm is correctly placed between the beginning of Precast I Girders G1 and G2.

Also If you want to place the component at other locations, utilize the station value.

5

In the previous "section" step, we made section definitions for different objects, but we didn't define a section for the "Custom Diaphragm." Now, we will proceed to define a new section specifically for the "Custom Diaphragm."

Click three-dots icon on Select Station cell and click “Import Section” as in the figure.

Import the "Rectangle" section as in the figure

7

Enter the following data for Offset from edge&top of web [in] as in the figure

8

Set the Type to "Truss" for the "Custom Diaphragm." We have chosen this type because we want the diaphragm to carry only axial loads during the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis.

9

Enter the "Custom Diaphragm" data available in the project as in the figure
