In OpenBrIM, "Support Lines" is the term used to describe the locations of abutments and piers in plan view. These lines are typically placed at the centerline of piers and the front face of backwalls for abutments, and are also used to determine the extents of the deck and beams. Bridge ParametersIt is necessary to create a single support line for each abutment and pier location. Bridge: Since OpenBrIM allows for the modeling of multiple bridges, you should specify the bridge on which the support line will be placed using this parameter. Station: The station of the support line can be defined using this parameter. The generation of the support line with respect to the station is based on PGL (Proposed Grade Line). Skew Angle: This parameter can be used to define the skew angle of the support line. See the screenshot below for a description of positive and negative skew angles. Transverse Offset: This parameter can be used to specify specifies the offset value of the support lines in a direction perpendicular to the PGL. A value of zero indicates that the center point of a support line is located at the PGL. Positive values offset the center of the support line towards the right when looking upstation along the PGL. Refer to the screenshot below to see for the directions of positive and negative transverse offsets.
3D VisualSupport Line Width: This parameter can be used to adjust the width of the support line in the transverse direction. Show/Hide [Show/Hide]: This parameter is used to toggle the object in 3D view. Label: This parameter can be used to change the name of the object in 3D view. |
