Please follow the instructions provided below to define Temporary Support |
| The rationale behind establishing "Temporary Support" is as follows: When constructing "Concrete U Girders" over a specific span, the construction is executed in a "Segmental" manner due to transportation constraints. During this segmental construction process, stability issues arise in the Concrete U-Girder components. To address these stability concerns, it becomes necessary to position "Temporary Supports" at specific points.
| Navigate to Temporary Support > Single Element
| Click on the "Girders" column. Click “CUG1” from the combobox.
| Click on the "Girders" column. Click “pick” from the combobox.
| Enter name as “TSupL1”
| The "Temporary Support" locations that apply to the "CUG1" girder also apply to the "CUG2" girder because they will be built identically as "Segmental".
| "Temporary supports" will also be used during Closure Casting operations of Girders.
| “Fixity" statuses will change during the "Temporary Support 3, 5, 7, and 9" construct time. That's why we've redefined these "Temporary Supports". This will be explained in more detail in the Construction Stages page.
| Navigate “Fixity” spreadsheet.
| Enter the "Fixity" values for each “Temporary Support” as shown in the figure. |
